SUSTAINABILITY

We are the fourth generation of the family to run our winery and distillery, and we want to pass on to our descendants an environment that is as rich as the one we inherited.

Thanks to the link between our winery (Bogarve 1915) and our distillery (Algarve 1914) we are able to embrace circular economy practices, which in turn allow us to optimise our resources, reduce our consumption of raw materials and make full use of our waste, to which we give a new lease of life.

To this end, the organic waste from the winemaking process (stems, grape pomace and lees) provides the raw material for the distillery, where it is used to make alcohol products. In turn, we use the waste from the distilling process as fuel for the boiler or as organic fertiliser for the fields. And thanks to the agreements we have with our clients, the waste materials we do not use, such as grape seeds and calcium tartrate, are transformed into new products such as grapeseed oil and tartaric acid.

As in nature, all of the waste generated serves a new and valuable purpose.
